Accommodation

We have many local places where you can book accommodation. Due to such connection links; our Courses do not come with Accommodation as standard, unless specifically stated. However; for those who have booked a Course and wish us to help us arrange some Accommodation for your stay, please contact our Academy directly, your Lead Trainer, or Customer Manager as soon as possible.

We would always like to hear what you say, so we would be grateful if you can give any explanations for your scores, if required.

Important Notices

What is an Important Notice?

All of our Courses will have certain Course Requirements, which you will need to complete or comply with. Some will be required before your Course and some for on the day. The Course requirements which you must be able to satisfy, in order to sit the Course will be detailed in the Important Notice Section, on our Website. You will find this in the Student Zone. Please read these requirements before making your booking

Important Notice – Driver CPC 

Before you can receive CPC Training at Advantage One, you must provide a valid ID, either a Driving Licence or current Passport.  You must also provide proof of your driving entitlement for LGV/HGV. Failure to provide Valid ID will mean CPC Training you will not be permitted to attend the course. If you provide us with incorrect or false information then DVSA will refuse to allocate your 7 hours CPC Training to you.


Important Notice – SIA Full Courses

In order to complete your Security Guard or Door Supervisor training Top-up or full course, you must have an appropriate First Aid qualification as of April 1, 2021. It must be an EFAW (Emergency First Aid at Work) or higher qualification. If you already have Emergency First Aid, you will need to provide evidence of this before the start of your course. Fail to provide evidence you will not be enrolled onto the course and you will have to rebook, the initial one day course before starting.

Important Notice – SIA Top-Up 

Before you can take Security Guard or Door Supervisor training; Top-up or full course, you must have an appropriate First Aid qualification as of April 1, 2021. It must be an EFAW (Emergency First Aid at Work) or higher qualification. In addition you must have also passed ACT Counter Terrorism, before commencing your training.

If you already have both Counter Terrorism and Emergency First Aid, you will need to provide evidence of this before the start of your course. Fail to provide evidence you will not be enrolled onto the course and you will have to rebook, the initial one day course before starting. Your ACT Counter Terrorism Training can be done free of charge at home however, there is a small charge of £15 if necessary to complete on site at our Academy.

 Advantage One Training Academy has a number of Accreditations and Awarding Bodies who we work with and support us provide the best services, ones which are verified to ensure you are trained as well as you should be, providing you with the confidence to use your Training, with the knowledge your Training will be recognised all around the UK.

Part of our responsibilities for our Students, we provide you with the full contact details of our Awarding Bodies, in the cases of concerns, questions, or complaints in respect to the Courses we deliver.

Highfield Awarding Body for Compliance (HABC) and their complaint policy can be located on their website: www.highfieldabc.com.  Alternatively please speak to the HABC team on 0845 2260350.

Should you address your complaint to HABC and remain unhappy with the outcome you may then raise your complaint to the relevant qualification regulator.  Either a representative of Advantage One Training Academy or HABC will be able to offer you guidance on the appropriate qualification regulator in each instance and provide contact details.

The following relates to complaints regarding publicly funded qualifications in Scotland only.  Should you have undertaken a publicly funded qualification in Scotland, wish to make a complaint and you have exhausted the procedures of Advantage One Training Academy, HABC as the Awarding Organisation, and the relevant qualification regulator then you do have one final route of complaint.  Please contact the Scottish Public Services Ombudsman (SPSO) directly, details can be located on their website: www.spso.org.uk

Complaints & Whistleblowing

If you have a complaint about the conduct of an approved centre or wish to report issues about a periodic training course you attended such as:

  •         short delivery

  •         poor quality training

  •         inappropriate content

  •         unsuitable venue

  •         drivers not engaging in training

  •         other

 Please email DVSA using [email protected] with as much detail as possible.  If you can, please include:

  •        Centre name & address

  •        Training venue address & trainer name

  •        Course date

  •        Timeline/details of events

DVSA take complaints about periodic training very seriously and will investigate according
